While there's an obsession for smaller and smaller high resolution HDMI LCD Monitors, Lilliput's latest release is a huge 9.7" IPS LCD Field Monitor. That's about as large as an iPad screen. Besides having all the standard software features you'd expect like Peaking Filter, False Color, Exposure Zebras, and a Histrogram, this new 9.7" LCD stands as their first Professional Field Monitor and current Flagship Product with a variety of inputs including (2) HDMI Inputs and (1) HDMI Output.

Can be powered through popular Sony batteries, or through Canon LP-E6 with a battery plate adapter. Folding sunshade, simple Analog Dials for adjustments, and Gimbal Yoke for easy re-positioning. I really like where this is going, as I can see myself using a larger monitor on many occasions. Good news and slightly not so good news for those seeking the new CN600SA LED Video Light Panels and need to have it shipped pretty quick. Previously the new version of these light panels were only available from overseas with long shipping times via eBay. For more information about these lights, check out an earlier review (found here).

Today they are available through Amazon (seen here), ships quick from USA, and currently at a sale price that's cheaper than the overseas seller. The not so good news is that the Amazon sale, does not provide the Wireless Remote dimmer that is optional for these lights. Check it out following the link (Click Here).

Just talking about Canon's latest Compact Prime Cine Lenses, it's not for everyone. Fortunately Rokinon is well aware of the DSLR Video scene and is adding another Cine lens to it's product line and i'm feeling the new Rokinon 35mm T/1.5 Cine lens is going to be a winner. The available Rokinon 8mm T/3.8 Cine Lens didn't really take off since it was more of a specialty type wide angle fisheye look.

The new 35mm Cine Lens will have a lens gear built around the housing, and de-clicked manual aperture ring to adjust exposure on the fly. First lenses will come in Canon, Nikon, and Sony mounts, but as one wise commenter mentioned you could just go for the Nikon version (since it's a manual lens) and find simple adapter to fit just about everything else.

[Update] Rokinon will also be announcing a new 14mm T/3.1 & 24mm T/1.5 Cine Lens. At this time, only the 8mm T/3.5 Fisheye is already available, and 35mm T/3.1 has been just been released for pre-order, but you'll be able to check out the entire Rokinon Cine Lens collection over at B&H (Click Here).

I first purchased a used first gen Skyler Minicam and enjoyed it so much, I went out and purchased the latest model (then sold off the older one). It's a tiny little stabilizer that packs up small, performs excellently, and has amazing build qualities. Unfortunately it's a bit expensive compared to other stabilizers, so i'm happy to see another person like Carl Pendle from www.carlpendle.com using it. I'm not alone in this world..

This time Carl shows how to modify the Flycam Armbrace to fit the Skyler MiniCam for extended flight times. After the modification, he also shows a clever sling he uses to help him carry the entire weight, and stick around to the end for some fine examples of his Skyler Minicam in use. [Thanks Carl]. The Zeiss CP.2 Compact Primes have been a popular choice for professional Canon DSLR Cine Lenses, but Canon should be giving Zeiss a run with the growing line of Canon CN-E compact primes. So far they've announced a 24mm T1.5, 50mm T1.3, and 85mm T1.3, to work on your full frame cameras, the new Black Magic Cinema camera, and 4K resolution ready for that new C500. For me that has pretty much covered a good range of lenses I choose to use on a daily basis, but i'm hoping to see a 35mm added to that list too. Pricing is not too far off from the CP2 lenses, and Pre-order pricing for Canon's compact CN-E prime lenses start at just under $5K (each).

A few weeks ago I wrote an article about Seagate's thunderbolt drive adapters working with regular SATA drives of SSD drives. These Thunderbolt adapters are listed to work with their GoFlex line of portable hard drives, but here Carl Pendle from www.carlpendle.com shares a video showing that it does indeed work directly with a few other bare drives [Thanks Carl]. If you have to share files, or even edit from an external drive, you can't beat the speeds of Thunderbolt, but options have been very expensive. The SeaGate adapters seem to be the best bet right now allowing you to expand by just purchasing more off the shelf drives.

The new P&C GearBox was designed to hold your camera body and allow several mounting points for video accessories. I've used a couple GearBoxes over the weekend and just enjoy handling the camera with it mounted inside. I think once you try it out, you'll understand. These deals only last for a few hours or until the quantity is sold out. You might find that it brings you to a Nikon mount deal, but no worries.
