If you're not up to speed, I seem to collect random camera related things, especially Lens Replica Mugs. They are fairly cheap and trust me, they make 'EXCELLENT last minute gifts' if you have them laying around. It's just something nobody wants to throw away. For those who share the same hobby, here's a look at the latest Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 IS version. I have the original 70-200mm F/4 IS mug which wasn't exactly like the real lens, but this version looks pretty close and it's offered with stainless steel insert for hot beverages. The one that looks 98% exact would be that Canon 24-105mm.

One tough item to find lately is the Canon 300mm/400mm F/2.8 Lens Replica High Power LED Keyring Flashlight. Originally offered by Canon a few months ago and now sold out everywhere. The only person in the country who's carrying it now is this one eBay seller (click here)

For Canon Replica Lens Coffee Mugs, the good ones are the 24-70mm F/2.8, Canon 100mm F/2.8 IS USM Macro, 24-105mm F/4 IS, 70-200m F/4, and 70-200mm F/2.8 IS. Check out all the other articles about other lenses in the collection here: http://cheesycam.com/?s=lens+mug+replica

Here's the background story. During the Winter Olympics, Canon released some limited edition Lens Replica Coffee Mugs to the press. The world went nuts, but these were limited edition items. These lens replicas sold for hundreds of dollars at auction. Rumor is that Canon had these made by a factory over seas (China?), and since there was such a demand, the company began producing more of these and in different varieties.

Not sure how long some of you have been reading this blog, but i'm an enthusiast of the most random DSLR Collectibles. I've collected a few of those fairly accurate Lens replica Coffee Mugs, and now another nice one is on available in the 100mm F/2.8L Macro IS version. These look dead on like the real things, and some available with stainless steel inserts for managing hot beverages. Some versions actually have a 'zoom' feature - turn the zoom ring and the lens cup adjusts.

These are by far the best 'Gift Ideas' for friends and family (maybe yourself) who enjoy all things DSLR. It's an inexpensive idea, but something that won't ever be thrown away. Most of these can now be had for less than $10 US dollars. If you're interested, go for the latest models often advertised as 'latest generation', and opt in for the Stainless Steel inserts too. Available in a variety of Lens models from 24-70mm, 24-105mm, 70-200mm, and now 100mm Macro IS and also a variety of popular Nikon lenses too (click here).

In reference to my recent post about the new Nikon Replica Lens Mug with Zoom capability that I received, here's some images. The details on these replicas are incredible. Also there's some images of my other Canon Replica Lens mugs. The 24-105mm Lens mug you see in the gallery is the old one. The new Canon 24-105mm F/4 Replica Lens mug now has a stainless steel insert. Images were shot in my Product Cocoon with a Canon 580 EX II speedlight on each side triggered by my Canon ST-E2 transmitter. Images are a bit underexposed, but it's about midnight, and hopefully these should be good enough to give you an idea of the quality and detail of the Nikon 24-70mm Replica Zoom Lens Coffee Mug with Stainless Steel insert

I was searching for a Nikon Coffee mug as a gift for a Nikon fanatic friend and ran into this. I just posted an article about Lens Replica Coffee Mugs getting an upgrade, and all of a sudden there's a new one out with another upgrade. Looks like the Nikon Replicas are ahead of the competition with this one. An actual Stainless steel insert Nikon Replica Lens Coffee Mug that 'Zooms' in and out. Yeah it's a bit geeky, but if you're going to rock one, why not rock it right. The details on the mug are claimed to be 99.9% accurate, and having received my Canon 24-105mm Lens Coffee Mug a while back, i'm sure that's very possible. They are coming out with such detail and scale to size, it's hard to tell the real from the fake. Now with the cool 'Zoom' factor, it adds even more to these fun little nostalgic collector cups. This one also comes with the fancy lens pouch to complete. This is a very new item and has just become available for sale here.

I blogged about the popular Canon 70-200mm Replica Lens Coffee Mugs that first showed up during the Winter Olympics 'With Stainless Steel Insert', and then in short time a non-OEM Canon 24-105mm replica lens cup turned up which was ok, but didn't have a stainless steel insert for real coffee use.

Soon after a replica Nikon 24-105 Lens mug showed up. The Nikon replica 24-105 lens plastic mug was a nice try piggy-backing on the popularity of the Canon 70-200mm coffee mug, but also didn't have the stainless steel insert like a true Hot Coffee Mug.

Well looks like Nikon users have something even more to smile about, now that the Nikon 24-70mm F/2.8 Replica Lens Thermos Coffee Mug with Stainless Steel insert is up for sale. The replica from the photos look fairly well put together and adds a nice touch with the replica box and lens bag. You can find the Nikon 24-70mm F/2.8 Replica Lens Coffee Thermos Mug here.

The Canon 24-105mm Plastic cup also gets the Stainless Steel treatment making it finally useable for actual Coffee drinkers. If you haven't checked out my videos on these replica lens coffee mugs, they are actually made quite well. You would think that after this quality upgrade to Stainless Steel prices would go up from the normal $80+ dollars they used to fetch for, but in reality, now that popularity has died down they've become much more affordable for us geeky nostalgic collectors. You can find both Nikon and Canon Stainless Steel Replica Lens Mugs here.

If you've read deeply into any of this blog, you'll find i'm pretty biased with all Canon Camera stuff. Sue me if you're disappointed, but as far as DSLR Video related stuff is going on, Nikon's been pretty late in the game. Well here's another late entry by Nikon (or by some knock-off artist). After much much rave around the Canon Coffee Mugs, here comes the Nikon Coffee mug! So for all you Nikon shooters who had to sit in the cube next to the guy bragging about his fancy little Canon Mug (yes I do that), you can finally stand your ground. Check out the prices and availablity on the Nikon Coffee Mugs here.

Canon 24-105mm Lens Mug Coffee Cup ' 2nd Generation Update '
In other related news. The Canon 24-105 Coffee cups have had a complete redesign. So we knew that the 70-200mm F/4 Canon Mug was legit. Then someone had the idea of designing a cup based on the Canon 24-105mm F/4 L lens with IS. We knew this was a cheap knock off and the quality of the design was even terrible. So this wasn't something I really talked about. Well I just got news that the 24-105mm cup has had a redesign they are calling '2nd Generation'. With better letter printing, overall build, and even working switches on the side (not even the 70-200 has this feature), the new version is looking really really really good. I'm grabbing mine now.

I've gotten alot of questions about these Canon Coffee mugs that were first released for promotional items during the Winter Olympics in Canada (hence the french on the box). Through my long long long research i've found that there is only 1 manufacturer in China who produces these 1:1 replica Coffee Mugs of a 70-200mm F/4 IS lens. Since this company is in contract with Canon to only sell through Licensed Canon Sales Channels, it's not likely you'll be getting them by bulk into the US. Yeah tough, because I wanted to grab a wholesale bunch of these things for the Cheesycam audience.

Fortunately there are some grey - black market mugs for sale via eBay and other websites. I've been following many blogs about other guys who have already received their limited edition mugs, so it's obviously shipping from the source somehow. Doing some research on eBay for sellers + feedback + member since + etc. etc., I decided to take the plunge and order one of these items. I'm not suggesting that everyone go out and grab one right now, but i'll let you know if I get scammed. Fortunately I'm pretty good at sniffing a legit sale or not on eBay and payment is via Paypal. I'm taking one for the team on this, so that the rest of you who might want to follow up on a purchase can feel a bit safer knowing the item was actually received or not. Besides, Paypal has always had my back on any type of dispute.

If you're part of the daring group of hard core Canon fanatics who feel this is a much needed collector piece, you can find them on sale by clicking here, or any of the images above.
