Wieldy's new DV Pro Stabilizer (a.k.a Iron Triangle DV) looks like a more advanced version of a Glidecam HD series stabilizer. If you look closely to the design, it resembles the same left / right / forward / back adjustable stage as Glidecam along with a built in quick release stage for fast packing.

The entire sled design and even counterweights are also cut to a similar shape that resemble the Glidecam. If not for the Carbon Fiber post of the Wieldy, I could easily mistaken this for either the Glidecam HD2000 or HD4000.

Here's where a few differences are with the Wieldy. The Wieldy DV Pro Stabilizer states it can collapse to a minimum height of 15" which is similar to the smaller HD2000, but can telescope to about 29" which is about the max height of the largest Glidecam HD4000. The Wieldy gimbal (unlike the Glidecam) can also be repositioned on the post allowing for another fine tuning adjustment, or to use the stabilizer upside down for very low mode flying.

Jeremy shares a link to the discounts on Sandisk today [thanks Jeremy]. If you have a preference for the brand, the Sandisk 32GB SDHC Class 10 Media card now comes in at a few dollars cheaper than the Transcend 32 GB Class 10 SDHC. For compact flash media, I still think Transcend has the better deals, but everyone has their preferences. Check out the sale at Amazon (Click Here).

Here's a video I did about a month ago to introduce the new Magfilter threaded adapters for high end compact point and shoot cameras. These filters are now available to use any brand Polarizer or ND filter on cameras like the new Sony RX100. Adapters are available to fit 52mm, 55mm, and 58mm threaded filters of your choice. Check it out the Carry Speed website (click here).

Not long ago Canon released a newer version of their popular 24-70mm F/2.8L lens, but at almost double the price of the original version and without Image Stabilization (which many hoped for). Sure, there's some major differences in the design and in image quality, but not enough for someone like me to spend that extra cash to upgrade. I'm curious if anyone out there has decided on the upgrade, and if you think it was worth it? Leave a comment. One thing I will say is if you shoot Canon, this is one lens you need to have in your bag. If not the version 2, you can still find the many of the version 1 F/2.8L on eBay for a fair price (seen here).

Regardless about my opinion, there is a great price on the new 24-70mm F/2.8L II lens if this is what you've been looking at. Normally runs for $2800 dollars (as seen here on Amazon), B&H is running a special today knocking off an extra $500 bucks (check it out here).

Ryan writes in and shares another Video Matte box with dual 4x4 filter trays that has become available for budget shooters [Thanks Ryan]. It's listed as a 'Pro Compact Matte Box', but it should probably be re-named to 'Very Basic Matte Box'. On higher end Matte Boxes you will at least find a quick release clamp system or even swing away arm to make lens changes easier.

The inexpensive matte box comes with 15mm rail clamp, removable top and side flags, and various neoprene donuts. One listing states that at least one of the filter trays is rotatable for a polarizer, but it's hard to tell from the generic photos online. The matte box starts from $140+, found via eBay (click here).

Sony has released a firmware update to improve features found in the Sony NEX-7. I'm very satisfied with the little camera, and this is just icing on the cake. Other firmware updates published on the same article include E-mount lenses to enable Hybrid AF function with the new NEX-5R and NEX-6 camera, SLT-α65V and SLT-α77V, and α37 (SLT-a37) and α57 (SLT-a57) models. You can find out more details about what the firmware updates will improve following the link to the Sony Blog (Click Here).

So while Sony has recently released it's new Action Camera set to steal some of the GoPro sports camera market, GoPro today announced the new Hero3 that is 35% smaller, 25% lighter, and 2x faster than previous GoPro Hero cameras. Even with a smaller profile, the Hero3 will offer built in Wifi (no need for BacPac). Low light performance is supposed to be 2x better than previous models also.

Want more? With the faster processor, the new Hero3 brings more framerate options like 1080@60fps, 720@120fps, and an impressive 2.7K resolution @30fps. They also brag about the ability to shoot 4K resolution video @15fps, which I still haven't figured out what I would personally use this for. Also includes ProTune, and offers manual white balance settings.

To be officially correct, the Hero 3 will be available in three different versions with three different prices. Only the 'Black Edition' camera will be able to offer the most features, while lower models will have some limitations.
