Ok, so i'm late to the party for posting this up, but I was busy during the holidays with the family. Anyways, in case you missed it, here's a demo from Edelkrone's unique SliderPlus+. It's a 1ft slider (to fit your travel bags), that travels 2ft. Doesn't sound like very much sliding movement, but as with any tool, you just have to be creative about what you're using it for. There are still questions about how smooth the slider really is when operated by hand, but with a motorized adapter on the way, this slider can be very consistent with movements.
DSLR 15mm P&C Baseplate Mod
Here's a clever way to take advantage of the GB-R 15mm Rail kit that is typically used for the P&C GearBox. Carl Pendle modified this by adding a small quick release adapter to mount to his camera directly. It's an inexpensive way to add rails for supporting 15mm accessories with a minimal footprint. New Gear: Rokinon 85mm T/1.5 Cine Lens Unboxed
The older Rokinon 85mm F/1.4 lenses are still a great value and produce great quality, but here's an unboxing of the latest Rokinon 85mm T/1.5 Cine Lens in the new Black w/ Red Accent design which not only looks better, but offers a bit more quirky features for budget video shooters. (BTW I made a mistake, and I don't need the M43 adapter for the version of the Black Magic Cinema Camera currently, just the Nikon to EF shim).
At just $350 dollars (found here), I feel it's not very much to ask for a solid 85mm video lens with a wide aperture, smooth manual focus, de-clicked aperture, and built in lens gears. Keep in mind that on cameras like the GH3 the focal distance will be hard to manage with hand held shooting. There is no image stabilization on this lens. For tripod mounted shots, it will produce that beautiful portrait style look and provide smooth focusing between subjects. The Rokinon 85mm T/1.5 Cine Lens is available now via B&H or Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and Sony E & A mounts (click here).

Canon T4i with 18-55mm Lens $649
Just got news that B&H has an additional $100 off the Canon T4i with 18-55mm Lens Kit. The Canon Rebel T4i is the first Rebel to take advantage of Canon's latest Digic processor for lower noise at higher ISO and includes a Vari-angle TouchScreen LCD. You can also set manual audio levels when using external microphones, and there is full time Auto Focus in video mode. You won't see the discount until you've clicked the 'See Item in Car' button. Here's an image of what I see.

Just in case anyone out there was about to purchase one, here's the link to the listing currently on sale (Click Here).

Panasonic GH3 Video with 12-35mm F/2.8 OIS Lens
Here's a few video clips from the new Panasonic GH3 camera taken while I was hanging out at the San Francisco Academy of Science. Most of the video clips were shot in high ISO due to low lighting, and everything was shot handheld (no tripods allowed in the building). I also took a few still images that I've posted in an earlier article (seen here).
The Image Stabilization on 12-35mm F/2.8 Lens proved to work very well even with some of the close up shots. Unfortunately, this video will not showcase the true abilities of the Panasonic GH3
camera as sharpness is lost when shooting through the thick plexiglass aquariums.
For the video, the only gear that was used is found below.

FilmCity $95 Composite DSLR Rig
FilmCity is now offering a budget composite mostly plastic 15mm DSLR Video rig and YouTube member Nitsan has an early look at what this budget stabilizer offers.
The price of the shoulder rig is inexpensive due to the plastic design and carbon fiber rods (or what looks like carbon fiber). Some packages include aluminum rods instead. The FC-10 can be purchased with or without the rear Counterweight, starts at only $95 dollars via the eBay store (Click Here).
