According to BlackMagic Design, the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K is now shipping at a new low price of US$2,995. This new low price will be available for all customers, including existing pre-orders. The Production Camera 4K is a Super 35 sensor with Global Shutter.

The Blackmagic Production Camera 4K is available now for US$2,995 from Blackmagic Design resellers. Check out more detailed specs following the product link below via B&H. I didn't find any price chafes from the original $3995, but any pre-orders should have the price adjusted before it ships. They claim that they are starting to ship today.

Im sure the GH4K announcements had something to do with their timeline but I also believe is due to the NAB show coming up in April where we hope they will announce updated camera, especially an updated BMCC with 48/60 or 120p I will wait for that before pulling the trigger!

Post author@Tango - Yes Pre-orders will not pay the original price. I'm sure pre-orders aren't charged until it ships, so you should only be charged the $2995.

Great Camera< I do find it funny that the price drops right after Panasonic Drops the info on the GH4 and its the price point to be within the 2-3k range. wow you gotta love it who knows whats next now
